Hakikat Penyakit riak

dear readers

hari nie memandang hari jumaat, apa kata kita baca sikit untuk kebaikan kita bersama

HAKIKAT PENYAKIT RIAK...

Punca Riak
Sebab-sebab yang boleh membawa kepada penyakit riak ini antaranya ialah;
Bagaimana mengelakkan sifat riak?
Terdapat beberapa cara untuk menghindari sifat riak daripada menguasai hati;

Phuket trip on Jun 09

hellow readers

dah lama juga i nak kasi tau yang i beli ticket flight ke Phuket on 2 Mac hari tu tapi tak sempat nak update . Anyway i will take a short trip again for another holiday . And yes this time i will fly to Phuket via Airasia. While do some research on flight ticket value - i have confident enough that rate given by Airasia is more reasonable compare to Malaysia Airlines eventhoug MAS currently run such a big promotion. Checked with MAS and it cost me RM250 return ticket to Phuket but with Airasia , i only purchased it at RM150. What do you think? We should spend our money wisely

hehehehe

impact aof Recession

Readers

In economics, a recession is a general slowdown in economic activity in a country over a sustained period of time, or a business cycle contraction.During recessions, many macroeconomic indicators vary in a similar way. Production as measured by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment, investment spending, capacity utilization, household incomes and business profits all fall during recessions.

Governments usually respond to recessions by adopting expansionary macroeconomic policies, such as increasing money supply, increasing government spending and decreasing taxation

This had gave some significant implication to everone such as Bankruptcies, Credit crunches, Deflation (or disinflation) , Foreclosures, Unemployment. But was that effected me or not. Yes it is. Company that i work with announced it last month that we have to take 10 days unpaid leave which is automatically will decust our salary at 1.6 days everymonth. Wahhhh this give a very big impact to me where i need to pay parking ( which is RM9.00 / day- due to office relocation @ JLN Sultan Ismail) and deduction of 1.6 days from May till Nov 2009.

So take my self more comfortable, i will alway tell my self that , all this is dugaan dari allah. Not some like a few of my friend yang dah kena retrench.

Labour Day????

readers

even today is labour day, im still at the office. WHY???? Bcoz need to follow our australia working schedule. But most of us off today and celebrate the labour day. On my way to the office, one of the DJ from one of the local radio station try to explain what is the history of the labour day and below was some answer that i believed most of us did not know about it.

The eight-hour day movement or 40-hour week movement, also known as the short-time movement, had its origins in the Industrial Revolution in Britain, where industrial production in large factories transformed working life and imposed long hours and poor working conditions. With working conditions unregulated, the health, welfare and morale of working people suffered. The exploitation of child labour was common. The working day could range from 10 to 16 hours for six days a week.[1] [2]

Robert Owen had raised the demand for a ten-hour day in 1810, and instituted it in his socialist enterprise at New Lanark. By 1817 he had formulated the goal of the eight-hour day and coined the slogan Eight hours labour, Eight hours recreation, Eight hours rest. Women and children in England were granted the ten-hour day in 1847. French workers won the 12-hour day after the February revolution of 1848. A shorter working day and improved working conditions were part of the general protests and agitation for Chartist reforms and the early organization of trade unions.

The International Workingmen's Association took up the demand for an eight-hour day at its convention in Geneva in August 1866, declaring The legal limitation of the working day is a preliminary condition without which all further attempts at improvements and emancipation of the working class must prove abortive, and The Congress proposes eight hours as the legal limit of the working day.

Although there were initial successes in achieving an eight-hour day in New Zealand and by the Australian labour movement for skilled workers in the 1840s and 1850s, most employed people had to wait to the early and mid twentieth century for the condition to be widely achieved through the industrialized world through legislative action.

The eight-hour day movement forms part of the early history for the celebration of Labour Day, and May Day in many nations and cultures

7 – 1 = ?

Helloooo readers

Yesterday was a day for me to make a decision as a team leader. One of staff had gave me her resignation letter. She has been working with company for almost 1 year and 10 months but I have no doubt on her knowledge on running the Purchase Order administration for south East Asia region. I heard a few rumors about her decision regards to her resignation such as she had applied to be a teacher, further her study and also managed to get a new job in another private sector. But one think that came to my mind was – she doesn’t like to work under my supervision where previous we are colleague but now I’m her supervisor. But business has to go on right.

But for me, I have to seat down for my APICS exam this coming June and once had obtained the professional certification, I will make sure that I will be somebody in Procurement industry.

May Allah bless me and hopefully all my current staff will support me as im working hard to support them in return with review the OT claim which previously none of previous staff can claim. And one more benefit that I’m working on was taxi and meal allowance. Perhaps this can be approving in couple of week.

talking about our Manager or Supervisor

Thank you for the feedback that recieved from one of the my reader http://inthenitegarden.blogspot.com/ , Eventhough im not that expert on how to explain this, well at least here some of the guidline on how to overcome our manager or supervisor

1. Always have a plan B. Most people are scared about having a discussion with their boss concerning their abusive behavior because they fear reprimand or losing their job as a result of it. Their fear is usually justified if the supervisor is a control-freak and feels that their subordinate is threatening their control. Before you deal with any type of conflict, you always need to have a plan B in case things don’t work out. A plan B is the best alternative that you can come up without having to negotiate anything with your boss. In this type of scenario, your best plan B would probably take the form of having an actual job offer in hand with another employer before you have your talk. By not having a back-up plan, you have given your abusive boss even more leverage over you because they know you have no where else to go. Having a plan B, however, empowers you with the ability to walk-away at any time should the negotiation not go right. Increase your power and have a plan B before you deal with the conflict.

2. Never react to verbal abuse or harsh criticism with emotion. This will always get you into more trouble than you started with because it will become a war between egos and chances are good that your boss has a bigger ego than you have—hence why he is difficult in the first place. When a personal attack is made on you, they are trying to bait you into reacting emotionally because once you react, you become an easy target for additional attacks. The key then is not to react, but to acknowledge and move on. By doing this, you effectively strip all of the power behind their verbal attacks away from your abusive boss, without creating conflict. If your boss happens to be an intimidator or a control freak, then the best way of dealing with their behavior is to remain calm and acknowledge their power by saying, "You're right, I'm sorry." By saying this, you take away any chance of them lashing back at you because you have sidestepped their verbal attack rather than meeting it head on.

3. Discuss rather than confront. When your boss criticizes you, don’t react out of emotion and become confrontational with them about it because that just breeds more conflict. Instead, use their criticism as a topic for discussion on interests, goals, and problem-solving and ask them for their advice. If they criticize your work, then that means that they have their own idea on how that work should be done, so ask them for their advice on how your work can be improved.

4. Manage the manager. A source of conflict usually occurs when a group of employees gets a new manager who demands that things run differently. These changes are usually reactionary in nature because the employees go about their regular duties until the manager comes by and criticizes the way it is being done. Instead of waiting for their criticism, take a proactive approach and be absolutely clear from the very beginning on how your boss wants things to be done so that there is no miscommunication later on. There are many ways of completing a task and having a discussion about them at the very beginning will allow you to see things from their perspective as well as sharing your own with them. Get to know their likes and dislikes inside and out so that you can avoid future criticisms.

5. Know that you can do little to change them. Being a difficult person is part of their personality and therefore it is a very difficult, if not impossible thing to change in a supervisor, so don’t think that you can change how they act. Instead, change the way that you view their behavior. Don’t label them as being a jerk--just merely label them as your boss. By avoiding derogatory labeling, you avoid making it easy on yourself to be angry with your boss.
Stop Creating ConflictIt's better to prevent unnecessary conflict than to manage conflict once the flames have started.

6. Keep your professional face on. Know the difference between not liking your boss and not being professional. You don’t have to make your boss your friend or even like your boss as a person, but you do have to remain professional and get the job done and carry out their instructions dutifully as a subordinate, just as you would expect them to be professional as do their duties as a supervisor.

7. Evaluate your own performance. Before you go attacking your boss, examine your own performance and ask yourself if you are doing everything right. Get opinions from other coworkers about your performance and see if there is any warrant to the criticisms of your supervisor before you criticize their opinions.

8. Gather additional support. If others share in your concern, then you have the power of numbers behind you to give you additional persuasion power over your boss. It is often easy for a supervisor to ignore or attack one employee but it becomes more difficult to attack all of his employees. He might be able to fire one of you, but he will look like an idiot (and probably get fired himself) if he tries to fire all of you. An interdepartment union is a good way of mustering power against an abusive employer.

9. Don’t go to up the chain of command unless it’s a last resort. Going straight up the chain of command is not an effective way of dealing with a difficult supervisor because it only increases conflict in the workplace. Your immediate supervisor will consider this a very serious backstabbing maneuver and might seek some sort of retribution in the future against you and your career. Also, other people in your workplace might brand you as a whistleblower because of your actions. Try to discuss issues with your supervisor first and only go up the chain of command as a last resort.
Stop Letting Conflict Control YOULearn to manage conflict by "using your head", rather than your heart. Find out about pro's and con's of different conflict methods.

10. Encourage good behavior with praise. It is easy to criticize your superiors, but criticisms often lead towards resentment and hostile feelings. Everyone likes a pat on the back for good behavior, so you should strive to watch for good behaviors from your supervisor and compliment them on that. Proactive praising is much more effective than reactive criticisms.

11. Document everything. If you choose to stay with a toxic employer, then document everything. This will become your main ammunition should a complaint ever be filed down the road. Document interactions with them as well as your own activities so that you can remind them of your own achievements at performance review time.

12. Leave work at work. Get into the habit of leaving work at home and not bringing it into your personal life because that will only add to your level of stress. Keep your professional life separate from your personal life as best as you can. This also includes having friends who you don’t work with so that you can detach yourself from your work life rather than bringing it home with you.

Department re-structuring

Dear Readers

As my previous entry, working with new role was not that easy as what we all thinking. To be a good manager need a lot of skils such as problem solving , leadership skill as you can see bwlo this is department structure.

So today, i would like to share with you all , some tips and guideline on how to be a good manager or supervisor. But of course im not perfect but willing to change my professional charector as tips given below:

Being an effective manager is important for the success of any business. Managing employees is tricky, and there are many common mistakes that managers make that alienate and anger employees. Here are the steps you need to take to prevent that from happening.

Step-1Make sure you set realistic expectations for employees. Whether it's making sure that you allot enough time for projects or making sure your employees have proper training, make sure that you don't set impossible standards for those under you.

Step2-If you require that an employee get something done by a certain date, be prepared to pay them overtime if necessary. Limiting overtime and setting short deadlines is a surefire way to make your employees unhappy.

Step3-Trust your employees. If you don't trust your employees, you may want to consider hiring new people. If you can't trust any of them to be honest with you, are you giving them a reason not to be? Give them the opportunity to prove themselves.

Step4-Do not take sides if employees have a conflict. Moderate and help them resolve it. Do not provoke a confrontation between them, as it will probably just make them defensive, as well as making them resent themselves as well as you.

Step5-Give plenty of opportunities for employees to learn new skills and move up throughout the company. If an employee feels that there is no opportunity for advancement, they will likely be always on the lookout for a new job where there are more options.

Step6-Be as flexible as possible about such things as employee hours and telecommuting. If an employee can work from home and still be as productive as they are in the office, then that should be acceptable for at least part of their time. If an employee needs to take a day off because their child is sick, or they just need a day off, that should be perfectly acceptable, and that employee should not be made to feel guilty about taking a day off.

Step7- Try to spend as much time in the office as your employees do. Coming in 2 or 3 hours later than they do on a regular basis, as well as leaving early on a regular basis sets a bad example for your employees. Especially if your business isn't absolutely wildly successful, try to have at least as much face time in the office as your average employee

Tips & Warnings

  • Your employees will respect you if you respect them.
  • Trust your employees and they will likely give you a reason to trust them.
  • Make employees feel appreciated if they bring forth ideas for improving the company, even if their ideas aren't used.
  • Give employees the tools they need for their job. Listen to their suggestions if they don't feel that their current tools are the best available.
  • Don't micromanage employees, especially those that have been with your company for many years. Nothing will make them feel more unappreciated.
hope some tips given will help us in career development
